Good for Hill
Assistant coach in the MVC will help his chances to be a Midwest Big Ten assistant coach (possibly Purdue)

Recruiting Boost has had great success in placing basketball players from all over the world to all levels of college basketball from High Major Division 1 to Junior College.
Recruiting Boost’s Founder, Cassius Bosket, is a former Division 1 coach with experience at Presbyterian College (SC), Miami University (OH), and Clemson University.
We have also added Austin Hansen to our staff as COO. Austin is a longtime Division 1 assistant men’s basketball coach with stops at Utah State, South Dakota State, Northern Colorado, and UW Milwaukee.

This is a relatively new Twitter account that claims to have inside info/utah connections. He's saying Haslam headed to Oregon State, which would meet the "step up in perception and step down in level of play" commentaggies22 wrote: ↑April 11th, 2024, 2:22 pmThat I'm not 100% sure on yet. Speaking of the flow, going from Sprinkle to Tinkle as your head coach? You can't make that up either. Let the potty humor fly.

Re: 2024 USU Hoops Coaching Carousel
I don't think this makes one bit of difference with those two. They've known for a while that Haslam is not going to be in Logan next year and yet they are still here. Are both guys really so tied to an assistant coach that they are willing to leave their teammates to follow him to an unknown situation for 1 year?Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑April 13th, 2024, 5:30 pmIsn’t good for our hopes of keeping Great and Uduje….Aggie702 wrote: ↑April 13th, 2024, 3:07 pmThis is a relatively new Twitter account that claims to have inside info/utah connections. Oregon State playing in the WCC next year can't be considered a step up in perception. It is certainly a step down in level of play.aggies22 wrote: ↑April 13th, 2024, 6:29 pmThat move DOES meet that criteria doesn't it. Re: 2024 USU Hoops Coaching Carousel
Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I’m not super crazy, at least on paper, about basically porting over a bunch of staff from YSU to Logan, but that seems to be the path these things usually take. While the Calhoun hire grew on me, what YSU accomplished wasn’t impressive enough to me to just bring everyone over, nor do they have exciting players to bring with. I’ll reserve judgment, but on paper the list of assistants is underwhelming.
Anyone have any insight as to why Eric Brown was retained over Haslam and Johnny Hill?

Re: 2024 USU Hoops Coaching Carousel
My uneducated guess is it has to due with Brown having more experience with the MWC and the west coast in general. Calhoun mentioned that as something he was looking for in a coach.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑April 13th, 2024, 7:51 pmWill be interesting to see how this plays out.
