He is from Utah and has spent all of his coaching in the West. Nice to have someone on staff who knows the ins and out of recruiting this area. Welcome aboard Eric.

I like this hire. So is the coaching staff filled out now? If so, hopefully they can get down to some serious recruiting and re-recruiting.

My son played for Daniels at UVU. Good coach and good buy but I guess I was looking for a little bigger splash and pedigree. Getting the right assistants is a huge part of being a successful head coach at the D1 level and that is becoming increasingly critical with the transfer portal and NIL. More and more moving parts for a coaching staff to manage.

I'd take Steven Verplancken if Daniels could convince him to transfer. We really need some sharp shooters from beyond the arch and Verplancken is a Xavier DuSell 2.0 type of player. Their numbers are nearly identical over their 4 year careers (40% 3pt with 5-6 attempts per game). He may not start at USU so I'm not sure if he'd be interested but he would be a huge value for us to have that type of player on the roster.
