Nigel Burris

Post by mcaggie1 » April 20th, 2024, 5:04 pm

I was looking at our roster and came to Burris’s name. I remember seeing his highlights at Idaho, which are pretty darned good for a freshman and saw that he was freshman of the year in the Big Sky. His numbers were very good. With that said, I wondered why he didn’t play this past year. Of course Great had a lot to do with that. I wonder, though if Nigel has what it takes to play and contribute. He moves pretty well, and like I say has good numbers. I hope he gets a chance.

He was a 3 and D guy and couldn’t do either at the MW level.

Is a lot of that due to how Sprinkle reportedly treated his players, probably.

Was there also a lack of MW talent in him, probably.

I thought 22 said it was just a confidence thing? I thought the implication was that Burris had the ability.

Burris definitely struggled with his confidence.

Wasn't there some talk early that his defense left a lot to be desired?

He didn't seem to lack confidence in the Purdue game. He managed to chuck it up every time he touched the ball. A couple of them even hit the rim. He was brimming with confidence.

I exaggerate, of course. But Burris and Templin were a combined 0-6, I believe.
