Super Bowl Predictions

Post by El Sapo » February 9th, 2024, 2:59 pm

I'm going Chiefs. It's crazy that they are getting points. 2 - 2/1/2. I think the Chief's defense will be able to control the Niners offense. I don't think the 49er defense will be able to control Mahomes / Chiefs.

Looking at the way the Chiefs are playing right now. Wins over Miami, Buffalo, and the Ravens. 49ers beat the Pack and the Lions. I understand that you play who is on your schedule, but IMHO Miami, Buffalo and the Ravens are all better teams than the Lions and the Pack. And the Niners struggled to beat those 2 teams.

Heard an analyst call the 49ers a committee of good players, while the Chiefs have the best player in FB.

Superbowl is typically a disappointing game. I could see this one getting ugly if the Niners allow the Chiefs to build a first half lead like they have with the Lions and the Packers in their 2 previous playoff games. Chiefs defense (Chris Jones) won't allow a comeback like that to happen.

70% of the spread money is on the chiefs.

I think that would rival the Eagles recent Superbowl as the biggest loss for sportbooks.

I'm taking the under, and some silly bets.

Yet KC lost to both Detroit and GB 🤷🏻‍♂️

KC has the best player in the NFL and 49ers need to do much better against the run and put pressure on QB. KC tackles aren’t very good and the guard filling in for Thuney is a weakness so getting them out of quick game will be important.

49ers definitely can’t come out like they have in prior two games and have to be a drop back passing team. Have to run the ball consistently.

KC had a plus 77 point differential and 49ers 193. Most games with KC were close games and KC is a good 4Q team. 49ers are a better team playing their best but haven’t had that down stretch. In a 49ers fan and hope they have their A+ game Sunday.

Outside of Mahomes going nuclear it’s two pretty evenly matched teams and depending on how it’s officiated comes down to turnovers, red zone and if one team can get the other off script

 Chiefs losing to the Pack and Lions is great info. Sitting here in the middle of Niner country I hear all the Niner analysis. I think they can adjust to stop the Chiefs running game, but that leaves Mahomes. I also think Debo is not his full self. Heard an analyst say that Debo only ran to the right Vs the Lions because they're protecting his injured shoulder. I don't think he will have an impact in the game.

The largest single reported bets are coming in on the Niners to win, 500K and 1mill (so far). What's up with that? Is it a hedge or something the casino does to offset other bets? I need a degenerate gambler to explain.

The Mahomes / Andy Reid combo is a difficult one to beat. Spagnolo is a very good DC as well.

I don’t gamble so definitely not an expert I had just heard that there is a ton of exposure the casinos have on 49ers future bets from beginning of the season thus the betting line with Chiefs underdogs and the line not moving much.

I am just hoping this 29 year drought comes to an end

I’m taking the niners. I want the chiefs to win, even if mahomes was a weenie for crying about a clearly offsides play. Even if mahomes is Kermit irl.

But the niners are a better team.

I would prefer the Niners win. And if the Niners are on, they’re on. They can really dominate a game. But, something in my gut says don’t bet against the Chiefs, even though I hate them with every fiber of my being (& always have).

Everyone else complains when the super bowl is a blowout like the Broncos and Seahawks that year, but if anything, one good thing about a super bowl that is a blowout is that it gives people something to complain about!

I do predict that this years ads will be more in line with ads of 15 years ago. I wouldn’t even be surprised to see a specific recall: office linebacker? Puppymonkeybaby? Wassdsuppp? Classics that people loved and didn’t create negative emotional reactions.

Fun fact (with Christian McAffrey playing in the Super Bowl):

Baltimore Orioles catcher also was also the punter at Oregon State. He had one career tackle - that was McAffrey.

I had one tackle in high school. That was Cody Grimm. Son of Hog, Russ Grimm.

Usher’s career has been dead for like fifteen years. It was always a weird pick and it’s starting to seem like only has been’s will do the halftime show.
