$57M to CSU for stadium (37M from bank + 20M anonymously)
This is our fellow peer institution, and we need to get our base more involved in donations.

I think it's possible, we have many wealthy alumni who our fans and program needs to get more excited about the athletics overall. This isn't an overnight change, we need more enthusiasm about Utah State overall.
I'm supportive of fundraising plans overall. Please discuss

CSU has the luxury of not having two other major higher institutions of learning with which to compete. We've got Utah and BYU gobbling up the money of much USU alumni.

Yes, but Air Force is not a state school and has probably better funding as a military school. They're also no BYU.

While there are excuse's for the lack of care from aggie alums when compared to Colorado keep in mind they have a successful NFL team in their state. They also have three major college teams and one NFL team, yet the one in the smallest city is able to get alums to donate money on a level that kick's USU alums to the curb. USU has poor support compared to CSU.USU_NoKaOi wrote: ↑April 21st, 2018, 3:15 pmYes, but Air Force is not a state school and has probably better funding as a military school. They're also no BYU.

The last time I checked USU donations, and ticket sale revenue was 11th in the 12 school MWC.
Wyoming just got 5,000 people to donate to the Cowboy Joe club, USU has a target of 1,500. Salt Lake county has all of 108 alums that gave a donation to USU over the last year. USU has terrible alum support.

Why is USU trying to bolster the Cowboy Joe Club?

I guess I did not write it so you could understand USU has a booster membership goal of 1,500. We fell short of that goal.
Wyoming has 5,008 members in their booster club.

I always wonder if the majority of prospective USU donors were 10% richer if we'd do better at fundraising. I've been privileged to be able to see an insider's view of actual numbers with regards to USU fundraising in both athletics as well the university as a whole. (They are currently kicking a very unique and unprecedented idea around at the university level.) I'd be surprised to see any donor to any school in the country go over 10% of their annual income for charitable donations in total. When compared to BYU, even they have trouble getting booster dollars, as evidenced by the fact that they just barely completed a bball practice facility despite a much larger fan base.

CSU is hoping for that Big 12 Invite
But seriously... they are certainly positioning themselves...

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
