So do we have the tie breaker with Nevada if we both win out now? CBS was saying we will be the one seed in the tournament.

Funny. Just how many points, rebounds, and steals were recorded by the kids that were recruited to Summit League schools? Zero. Drop it already.Coloraggie wrote:First place in the Summit league?
The beauty of things is that we are doing this with a rag tag bunch of Duryea players and Queta.
We are all united behind coach Smith and this team. What a joy to watch them play.

Sorry dyedblue, I should have let it pass. I am vey united behind coach smith and the team. I used to go to conference tournament every year but couldn't do it the last few years with Duryea, it wasn't fun to watch and I couldn't bring myself to pay that money and time to see a terrible product. Only a few games into this season and I ordered tourney tickets we are fun to watch. I don't care who the players are our how highly ranked they are, they play hard, they play together and are a joy to watch even those games we lose.

Remember when we were predicted to be 9th in conference at the beginning of the season.Yeah, neither do I. Utah State basketball is/has been a joy this season and we will celebrate at my house tonight when we wrap up a conference championship with a win against CSU!

Get used to the feeling. We only lose Brown and Taylor next year. Almost all the key players are back, with a year of playing together. Plus our good friends Nevada lose all their starters, and probably their coach (I hope). We should be the preseason favorites to win the conference next year.

One can only hope that the signees recruited over the scrappy former walkons that are contributing to both the outcome and the spirit of this year's squad catch the new/old Aggie Fire.LKGates wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 1:16 pmGet used to the feeling. Re: That’s what 1st Place Feels Like
That brings up an interesting question. What does this team need next year to be EVEN better? I'd say some quality depth at PG and another shooter.USU78 wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 1:25 pmOne can only hope that the signees recruited over the scrappy former walkons that are contributing to both the outcome and the spirit of this year's squad catch the new/old Aggie Fire.LKGates wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 1:16 pmGet used to the feeling. Re: That’s what 1st Place Feels Like
I think every team in the conference will be better next year with the exception of Nevada and maybe another that I’m not aware of. We need to get better and I would say at least one of our incoming freshmen needs to contribute next year.LKGates wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 1:16 pmGet used to the feeling. Assuming Queta is back, I think we'll be great if McChesney and Bairstow are as good as they appear. The only other real position of need is PG that I can think of. I think Bairstow will make an impact next year, and McChesney too if he can bulk up a littler.Madmartigan wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 1:26 pmThat brings up an interesting question. Re: That’s what 1st Place Feels Like
Porter/Brito/TK might honestly be just fine PG wise. Unless you want to redshirt TK.
Losing Taylor is pretty big given he's our starting 4 and backup 5 to Queta this year, and all 3 of our other bigs are question marks or coming off injuries in Stall, Grootfam and Fakira. Hopefully at least 2 will be healthy and pan out, and McChesney is ready for solid minutes as a true frosh

Agreed, would be nice to be considered a 2 or 3 bid league again. For example if we are tied for first place with one game to go on the conference schedule be a lock for the NCAASpectrumMagic wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 1:40 pmHopefully the improvement is during non conference schedule rather then afternswaggie wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 1:28 pmI think every team in the conference will be better next year with the exception of Nevada and maybe another that I’m not aware of. Were any local media members at the game covering it? Only team in the state with a chance of winning their conference and you would think they would send somebody.

Re: That’s what 1st Place Feels Like
What a comfortable position to be in where there are 8 more games in the conference regular season (I am assuming that UN holds on tonight) and no combination of outcomes will impact the banner that will be raised.
That’s what first place feels like!!!
