Re: Chris Cooley sighting
Good to have him back. He seems to have kept a low profile around USU since he retired. Don't know what that's about.

Re: Chris Cooley sighting
Chris has not had kind things to say about Logan in the past. However, he seemed to be enjoying himself yesterday, so perhaps things have changed.

Like they say, time heals all wounds. I was pleasantly surprised at a recent 30 year reunion I attended. People gain perspective, become more relaxed, less judgmental.

Anger is a young man's game.
I like a lot of things about Chris Cooley - his creative slant for one. I hope we see more of him going forward.

Cheating on your wife with her best friend, as soon as you "make it".
Then getting called out on it around town will do that.

What is wrong with my statement. It is 100% factual. Chris has been a douche about USU and Logan for nearly 20 years.
I know I don't respect the guy.

I don't know Cooley or anything about the alleged affair of which you spoke. It just seems ad hominem and irrelevant to me.

I love Popeyes! But I don't play basketball (last guy cut from the sophomore basketball team in high school, never looked back). Can I still eat there?

Ouch. I knew he was disconnected from USU and Logan, but I didn't know the details. I was living in Kentucky then, and not as plugged in to Aggie athletics as I have been for the last 17 years.

I wonder if the problem he had with Logan is it has too many people who can't forgive and take every chance to bring up his mistakes.

And how long ago did this happen? People make mistakes and there is a possibility he regrets it. Makes it much harder when types of people dig up bones. Especially with a personal situation that everyone would keep their noses out of.MWCFAN12 wrote:To me the character of our players is very important.Smokin Joe wrote: ↑April 14th, 2019, 9:39 pmI don't know Cooley or anything about the alleged affair of which you spoke. Re: Chris Cooley sighting
There are lots of people that already knew the story, it was a pretty public topic. Those that already knew just need to leave it alone. Those that hadn't heard the story didn't need to know. 20 years is a long time to keep a story alive. The fact is, everybody involved was young and dumb and probably wish they had made better choices.

Re: Chris Cooley sighting
This thread alone makes me understand Cooley's disdain. Many others have make mistakes just as big and bigger without anyone knowing about them or being constantly talked about and ridiculed for it by everyone.
It's 20 years later and people are still ridiculing him for it. Let's drop it, move on, and try to make Chris Cooley feel welcome back again. He'd be one great Aggie to have around our program. He was beloved in Washington.

Wounds heal all time - happy he came back, it's always good to get up to Logan every now and then, see how much things have changed, how much they've stayed the same. S'all good. I'm hoping to get back sometime this fall like I did last year, had a great time.

He did come back for one of our games a few years ago and did a halftime interview with the facebook broadcast team. It starts at 1:38:10.

Re: Chris Cooley sighting
Chris came back for this game because it was when he was enshrined into the Utah State Athletics Hall of Fame. It wouldn't be a good look for him to skip that. Even after that, he went right back to D.C. and bagged on Logan. My point is Chris came back this weekend because he was invited and he wanted to be here on his own accord. He wasn't being given an honor, he CHOSE to attend. In my opinion that is a HUGE step toward repairing the fractured relationship between Chris, Utah State, and Cache Valley. Chris didn't kill or rape anyone, Chris made a mistake that MANY professional athletes make. Welcome home, Chris.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑April 15th, 2019, 10:25 amHe did come back for one of our games a few years ago and did a halftime interview with the facebook broadcast team. Great to see him come back because he wanted to. I have never been in the spotlight, but playing collegiate/professional sports you are in the spotlight which will come a lot of unwanted judging. I myself try not to judge as heaven knows I have plenty of issues and am no where near perfect.

Re: Chris Cooley sighting
Again.
Someone stated he hasn't had good things to say about USU or Logan.
I stated why.
It happened. It is factual. The full story is FAR worse than the readers digest version I gave .
I am sorry I offended the internet police with the facts. I figured I was safe to state facts here. I didn't realize this was cougar board.
And my dislike for the guy has very little to do with his affairs and a lot to do with who he is, his attitude, and his character.
I thought the saying "when you can't dispute the facts you attack the messenger" was just a political thing.

Speaking of attitude and character: nobody likes a gossip. "Stating facts" is the classic defense against gossip. Unless you are his ex-wife, you probably know substantially less about this than you think. Quit dropping "internet police" and "Cougar board" like a whiny jerk, when fairer-minded people call you out on your gossip. (I was going to mention how very "Cougar board" it is to call someone out on their sins from 20 years ago, but I have a sense of irony.) People grow and change -- I'm pretty sure I'm not as big a jerk as I was 20 years ago, and I'm hoping you aren't either.MWCFAN12 wrote: ↑April 16th, 2019, 12:19 amAgain.

You make a great point. Someone said Cooley didn't have nice things to say about USU or Logan - ever. You pointed out that maybe his own salacious indiscretions were a factor in how he was treated. There's nothing wrong with pointing out the quite possible cause and effect of the situation.MWCFAN12 wrote: ↑April 16th, 2019, 12:19 amAgain.

I guess you missed the part where I said my feelings about Chris have very little to do with what he did to his ex-wife and a lot to do with my interactions with him personally
People on this board spout nonsensical b******* all day long. About coaching changes athletic department changes players my roommate's brother's cousin said this. This is an opinion message board and my opinion is that Chris is a douche.
I noticed that you didn't attack the information you just want to attack me. You don't know me from Adam.
As far as not knowing the situation maybe you should know who you're talking to before you make that decision. Have you ever thought that just maybe she is family?
Are you really trying to make the argument that no one on this message board gossips? On a message board are you serious?
I don't know you personally so I won't attack you personally but it's responses like this that make me not want to share information when I have it about coaching changes athletic department changes assistant coaches scheduling that sort of thing.

oh and by the way when Chris was with the Redskins he was doinking 2 cheerleaders at the sametime. And got both of them fired.
I believe he ended up marrying one of them. Now that is Gossip.

For what it's worth i talked to him for a brief minute after the scrimmage and he talked to a recruit for a minute and was very positive about the program.
He's divorced twice so he had some things there he has to live with, but he seemed positive about Utah State.
