Re: Aggies in the NFL
Darwin Thompson makes ESPN's Fantasy Football recommended people to draft. Quite a ways down the list, but pretty cool nonetheless.

Re: Aggies in the NFL
Kyler Fackrell played quite a bit in GB game v Raiders in Canada. Indicates that Kyler is probably on the bubble because the Packers like the Raiders sat out 30+ players each who have probably already earned spots on the roster .

I find it hard to believe that he would be on the bubble after leading the packers in sacks last year

I thought Fackrell was being slated to take on a larger role and possibly start?

Thompson is now apparently the number 2 back for the chiefs.

Hail Aggies!
Re: Aggies in the NFL
Bobby Wagner mentioned Utah State in his press conference today when talking about his friendship with CJ McCollum. Mentioned that CJ "went to a small school too so we have a lot in common....Utah State isn't small anymore though. Just saying'"

It what was otherwise a dreadful MNF game, it was fun to see Nick Vigil lead the Bengals with 11 tackles (eight solo) and two TFLs!

USU isnt a P5. That's what Wagner is referring to when he calls USU "a smaller school." Anybody not P5 is a smaller school.Aggiesun wrote: ↑September 4th, 2019, 4:38 pmBobby Wagner mentioned Utah State in his press conference today when talking about his friendship with CJ McCollum. Kyler Fackrell has had an injured shoulder. In the last couple of weeks he has started to play more and is playing well. Green Bay signed a couple of veteran defensive ends this past season with previous pro bowl experience, so Kyler is presently rotating with them and playing special teams as well. His spot on the Packers is secure.

Ags on 2020 NFL rosters
I know there's a legacy page on this elsewhere, so mods please merge this in if you think you should. But a quick look at ESPN's projected NFL rosters on cutdown day 2020 shows eight Aggies:
Wagner - Seahawks
Larsen - Panthers
Fackrell - Giants
Nick Vigil - Chargers
Scales - Bears
Love - Packers
Lawson - Raiders (suspended for week 1)
Thompson - Chiefs
Leavitt is under contract with Las Vegas but not projected to make the 53-man roster.
Penn, Alexander, Mays, Turbin -- as far as I can tell are not under contract.
Jalen Davis was waived by Arizona.
Eberle and Mariner were both waived by Las Vegas.
Galeai has a shot in Green Bay.
Repp was waived by Seattle but recently had a workout with the 49ers.
Please correct anything I might have missed.

Dax Raymond was signed to the injured reserve after he cleared waivers for the Steelers. He could come off after a few weeks.

Re: Ags on 2020 NFL rosters
They later cut Dax from their IR with an injury settlement: https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/footb ... ittsburgh/. I think he's back on the market. Hopefully he can get his injury healed up and find a team later this season -- his window's closing fairly quickly.AGGIEFIGHT wrote: ↑September 4th, 2020, 9:21 pmDax Raymond was signed to the injured reserve after he cleared waivers for the Steelers. Re: Ags on 2020 NFL rosters
Well there isn't much practice news out, but I think Leavitt will stick. Raiders just did cutdowns which Dallin survived. Raiders also cut a guy who played corner and they brought in to play safety. I think people expected him to make the team, and Raider beat writers said that cut and Leavitt being a core special teams player should work in his favor.
I've doubted Leavitt. He proved me wrong. Once bitten twice shy.

Galeai didn’t make the packers 53, but reports from camp saying he did great and they would love to keep him in practice squat.

Leavitt did indeed make the Raiders 53-man. So nine Aggies (counting Lawson) on opening week rosters.El Sapo wrote: ↑September 5th, 2020, 12:48 pmWell there isn't much practice news out, but I think Leavitt will stick. Galeai has made the Packers practice squad. Now he has a goal to do to Jordan Love in practice what he did to Tanner Mangum!

Re: Ags on 2020 NFL rosters
I thought Galeai would end up being our highest draft pick after his big junior season. I figured he'd grow and dominate. Instead, GA? moved him to a different position and he disappeared last season. Maybe the Pack can put him back into a position where he can be an impact player again.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑September 6th, 2020, 3:48 pmGaleai has made the Packers practice squad. Re: Ags on 2020 NFL rosters
According to this article (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/here ... -it-means/), Dominik Eberle signed onto the Raiders' practice squad. I wonder if that means they have questions about the health/reliability of their current kicker(s)...seems maybe a bit unusual to burn a practice team spot for a specialist? I think he's got the talent and leg strength to stick, if he could just break through somewhere. Hopefully it's in LV. this year... Go Dom!

Re: Ags on 2020 NFL rosters
Not only does that article say he signed with their practice squad but that he is one of their designated "protected" practice squad members for the first week. I hope they have to pay those players more since it seems they aren't allowed to go and sign with another team if they are protected.ShowMeAggie wrote: ↑September 10th, 2020, 3:05 pmAccording to this article (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/here ... -it-means/), Dominik Eberle signed onto the Raiders' practice squad.
