Hartwell Ole Miss, what happens
What happens if Haartwell gets the Mississippi athl director job? How will that effect our current coaches and admins and dept?. Who does he take?
I think from top to bottom we are in a good place but maybe this throws us off.

They should probably bring in Hartwell’s successor and let him get familiar with the program while John is still here.
Oh, wait...

Re: Hartwell Ole Miss, what happens
I think that question was answered the second they hired Jerry Bovee.

I'm actually really smart, probably smarter than you are so if you disagree with what I have stated in this post, you are likely wrong (and dumb).

I think a move to the South is out of Coach Smith's comfortability zone.

Its just the nature of the business, we all know that all athletic depth heads are just hired mercenaries. I really doubt that Smith would head to Ole Miss but i guess it depends on the dollar dollar bills y'all

No more mercenaries than any other employed people anywhere else in any other field.JFW_AGGIES wrote: ↑November 9th, 2019, 12:40 pmIts just the nature of the business, we all know that all athletic depth heads are just hired mercenaries. Suspect you have a very solid argument Aggies22. IIRC his professional history, Coach Smith has neith been a frequenter nor a pursuant of metropolitan, America and I don't see the man moving to the humid and steamy south. A large pot of money could dissuade Coach Smith from staying in the northern part of America yet that would be a major sea change for the man.

Re: Hartwell Ole Miss, what happens
I was reading the Weber board to see what there thoughts were on the basketball game. they are obviously upset. They were also really bitter about Bovee. They all were really happy he was gone from Weber. They kept saying he was fine if you wanted mediocrity. I know Bovee hired Hill but according to their board he wanted to go in another direction, but ended up going with Hill. I don't follow Weber, but what does anyone know about Bovee and the job he did there?

Re: Hartwell Ole Miss, what happens
They did massive upgrades to both the Dee and Stewart Stadium including a very nice weight complex in their North end zone. Basketball has been very solid during his tenure and football has risen to an FCS national power under his watch. I think he did well given the limited resources he had.
I wouldn’t have hired him to replace Barnes, but I could see him replacing Hartwell in a year or two.
