Justin Bean
How in the hell did he become our most well rounded player? Incredible story. If he can somehow continue to be a double-double machine, there's no way he can be left off the All-Conference first team at the end of the year.

Re: Justin Bean
Bean is passing Merrill in best player on the team.
Look at the stats and the stats downplayed his impact.
18 points
14 rebounds
8 offensive rebounds
3 steals
2 blocks
1 assist
3 PFs
0 TOs
Did some ball handling and passing with in bounding and half court.

Re: Justin Bean
Bean is one of the top forwards in college basketball.
Like 6 double-doubles
Was 9th in rebounding probably improved on that after today.
He gets blocks and steals.
15 points per game with 50+ percent from the field with a decent free throw %.
There is not many forwards who can beat that.

Re: Justin Bean
I don’t know how you can counter the rebounding, but I wonder how much of that is because teams have been focusing on shutting down Merrill. At some point they’re going to start trying to deal with Bean, too. Also, whenever we eventually get Queta back, hopefully that draws some more defensive attention away from Merrill.

Re: Justin Bean
I have to admit I was wrong about Justin Bean last year. I love the effort he brings to the table every night. He's worked his a$$ off to be a very, very valuable member of this team. I'm cool with being wrong.

I remembered that I was early Bean stat tracker and pointed out that Bean looked like he would get real playing time after the Eastern Oregon game last season. I was right.

I know some lost their minds when I said early in the thread that I thought Bean was going to be a starter 2019-2020 season after the Eastern Oregon game last season. A few years ago, a running gag was born without people realizing it. 3 years ago on this board, a small group of people here thought that the B stood for “Brito”. I like this running gag to continue because it is funny.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑December 5th, 2019, 7:42 amI think I just realized something. Re: Justin Bean
Bean is filling in all the gaps that we need. What an incredible hustle player and teammate. He is still probably fourth or fifth in terms of talent on this team, but his on-court intelligence is incredible. There are times (especially when he dribbles) that he still looks a little like a cow standing up for the first time, but overall his progression and contribution have been critical to this team starting 8-1.
I am not sure how he will be impacted by Queta returning. He could have even more space to do what he does best, or we could see a slight drop in his stats as Neemias takes a more central role. Either way, he makes a killer three-headed beast with Merrill and Queta.

I'm happy for the kid. No need to puff out our chests or admit to being wrong. We are all winners in this. I won't take anything away from the kid. He worked hard and continues to improve. He doesn't seem like a person that will let off the gas either.

Bean is on my list of players who could get a triple-double or a quad-double in his career. Another feat that Bean might do is a 20-20.

If he continues to improve at the rate he has over the past year, he's going to get paid to play somewhere. If he tightens his handles and adds a legitimate 3 point threat along with that improvement, he could make the NBA as a Paul Millsap or Kenneth Faried type player. IF he continues his progression. He's a pleasure to watch either way.

My concern with Bean sounds funny to some that Bean could make a case for being NBA player in the near future and leaves early in the since before his senior year.

He has been a pleasant surprise. And I mean no disrespect to Bean, but he is well coached. I don't know if he would be the same player under a lesser coach like Duryea.
