Lighting up the A
Re: Lighting up the A
Got my order in (which worked just fine) and really looking forward to getting one and adding to my USU collection at home. Thank you for all of your efforts.

Re: Lighting up the A
I posted an updated video to the Kickstarter about how to sand the plug about 2mm to get it to fit. Sorry about that! It was a tolerancing issue on my part.
I have a firmware update I am about to post to the website that should fix some of the issues that users have found so far. The timezone one is one that I haven't had reported yet. I will look into that ASAP.

Re: Lighting up the A
I do have a feature request. I think it would be cool to be able to use a theme on the device AND still have it Light the A blue. I have it setup in my Lego Christmas Village and would like to use the Christmas theme (flashing red and green) instead of white but then change to blue when the Aggies win.

I thought the same thing when I set mine up.ProvoAggie wrote:I do have a feature request. I think it would be cool to be able to use a theme on the device AND still have it Light the A blue. I also can’t get it to go below 5% brightness, it would be nice to be able to turn it all the way off at night without unplugging it.

I was able to set my sleeptime brightness to 0. Re: Lighting up the A
This shouldn't be too hard of a feature to add. I will add a checkbox in the holiday mode to select whether you want the Light the A functionality to still be in effect.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2019, 6:19 pmI do have a feature request. I should have a “Support and FAQ” section on the website soon that will have the latest firmware and instructions to update, as well answers to other questions from users.

They are at http://sports-iot.com/index.php/support-and-faq/.
I have V1.2 up now, but will shortly have 1.3 up that has the timezone bug fixed and the ability to have Light the A Blue mode when in a holiday color scheme.

Re: Lighting up the A
Over the last week as users have started to use the device, several people have pointed out bugs in my software or features they wish the device had. This is the first update where we think we have solved all of those issues.
We have created a section of the website called "Support and FAQ", where we will post any software updates and answers to questions from users. It can be found at http://sports-iot.com/index.php/support-and-faq/.
So, I recommend that you go ahead and update the software on your device by following the instructions on that web page.
Here are some of the key bug/features that have been fixes/added:
(1.2) Enable the Light the A Blue mode while using the holiday lighting (it will still turn blue when the Aggies win, but otherwise use the holiday color scheme).
(1.2) Fixed the Custom One Color and Custom Two Color modes.
(1.2) Automatically re-downloads the web files when a new firmware version is loaded.
(1.3) Fixed the timezone issues.
(1.3) Sliders should now go all the way to zero on both mobile and desktop browsers.
(1.3) Fixed a typo to make it clear that the start and stop time are for the dimmed hours.

Re: Lighting up the A
Ugh. Another code bug. Mine turned blue so I thought everything was working, but my code screwed up and set the Women's Basketball status to "won". So, if you had women's basketball turned off, yours probably didn't turn blue. I fixed it now.

Re: Lighting up the A
How long is the A supposed to stay blue. I have mine set right now for Men's Basketball and Football. It's still blue now even though the game ended over 24 hours ago. Is this something that could be configurable in the future? I think it would be nice to stay blue for like 12-18 hours if possible.

Mine is still blue as well, I think it would be nice if it could stay blue until the time that I have it set to go to sleep the next morning.ProvoAggie wrote:How long is the A supposed to stay blue. Re: Lighting up the A
I currently have the code working to turn it on, but am still manually turning it off. That is on my list of to-do's over the holiday break. Another person also emailed me about cutomizing the amount of time that it stays on. That will be another option I am going to add for the next release. I am hoping to have the automation of all sports and the custom turn off delay done by 7 days from now.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑December 22nd, 2019, 8:37 pmHow long is the A supposed to stay blue. There firmware itself wasn't buggy but the updater was. You can update it with a cable connected to your computer using the instructions to unbrick a device.bigwilly087 wrote:Is the V1.3 firmware still buggy? Website says link has been removed. I bought one for myself and my dad. We both commented that it was nice to see the A turn blue again. E. Oregon was a long time ago. I was beginning to think that my purchase had jinxed the team. I was about to send it back.

Re: Lighting up the A
My A hasn't been turning blue lately and if I select any other color option it just turns red. The settings menu seems funny too. Two color option shows no color selection box. Single color shows blue (but lights red). Once it goes red I can't get it back to white unless I unplug and replug. Any idea what's going on?

Re: Lighting up the A
It is possible that something has malfunctioned. Please send me an email at john.swensen@sports-iot.com with your address. I will send out a new base and include a self-addressed and postage paid envelope and ask you to sent back the base so I can do a post mortem. I have had one other out of the 240 so far that malfunctioned. I'm not sure what happened on that one, but the microcontroller was fried. Yours sounds like maybe a bad connection formed between the microcontroller and the first LED.QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑February 14th, 2020, 8:05 pmMy A hasn't been turning blue lately and if I select any other color option it just turns red.
