And his hometown has earned it more than USU - he spent much more of his life there.

I think they film those at the beginning of the season. So he says it once and then they use that the rest of the time.

He talked about people in the league donating money and first said that Bobby is really getting the money so he should donate some of it to Utah State, and quit saying Ontario California on Sunday Night Football.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑February 5th, 2020, 7:14 pmWhat did he say?GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑February 5th, 2020, 6:59 pmCoach A just called this out at the signing party.

Some of you tried to laugh this off and say Bobby was just goofing around. Bobby acting in this manner has clearly rubbed Coach Andersen the wrong way.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑February 6th, 2020, 12:01 amHe talked about people in the league donating money and first said that Bobby is really getting the money so he should donate some of it to Utah State, and quit saying Ontario California on Sunday Night Football.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑February 5th, 2020, 7:14 pmWhat did he say?GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑February 5th, 2020, 6:59 pmCoach A just called this out at the signing party.

Re: Bobby Wagner, Ontario California
And Coach Andersen's opinion is the standard by which we set right/wrong?
I like Coach Andersen, but I don't care what he thinks about what Bobby says in his introduction. As for Coach Andersen wanting Bobby to donate money - I don't think chirping about how Bobby should donate money to the public is any way to appeal to Bobby. If I was in Bobby's shoes, I wouldn't donate as long as Coach Andersen was coach. But maybe Bobby's not as spiteful as I am.

Bobby Wagner doesn't owe the school a danged thing, and we should be grateful for anything he does choose to do. He has already done so much for USU and we should focus on being grateful for what he has already done.

I haven't seen the video, but I'm guessing Coach said this in a joking manner, even if it reflects some sincere undertones. There is no reason to believe that Coach and Bobby don't have a good relationship, and I wouldn't be surprised if Coach has reached out to discuss donations.brownjeans wrote: ↑February 6th, 2020, 10:24 amAnd Coach Andersen's opinion is the standard by which we set right/wrong?

I don't think the "Ontario, California" thing has rubbed Coach the wrong way, but I'm sure Coach knows the recruiting value in having "UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY" come out of the mouth of one of the best NFL players every time the Seahawks are on tv, and I wouldn't be surprised if Coach has reached out to Bobby on that issue as well.

You're right. Bobby doesn't owe the school anything. But out of curiosity, what is it that you think he has done for our school that we should be grateful for?Imakeitrain wrote: ↑February 6th, 2020, 10:47 amBobby Wagner doesn't owe the school a danged thing, and we should be grateful for anything he does choose to do. I'm not saying he needs to write checks all day but every one of us owes USU... it's in our best interest to ensure USU is a better place than what we found it. That's just common sense.

That's how programs are built and stay built, with a feeling of generosity and gratitude inculcated in students and young grads. Generosity + gratitude = motivated givers, upon which USU relies (sucking hind t!t as USU does with the Board of Regents, the legislature, and the voters).KissMyAg wrote: ↑February 6th, 2020, 12:12 pmBobby owes a ton to the program, USU put him in the league.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑February 6th, 2020, 10:47 amBobby Wagner doesn't owe the school a danged thing, and we should be grateful for anything he does choose to do. Re: Bobby Wagner, Ontario California
Stop with this idea of people oweing things.
If you give, give without expectations.
If you pay someone for a service, or a thing and they provide it, you're square.
The only people oweing anything are those who stole something.

Also, Bobby Wagner earned his spot in the nfl. Yes USU opened the door, but thousands of people had that door opened and didn’t go to the nfl let alone become one of the greatest linebackers of our time.

Re: Bobby Wagner, Ontario California
I know we're not a P5 school so please don't lose your minds but one of our pro guys needs to step up and make it cool to donate to the program. The P5 schools all have current and ex-pro guys who love their program and give back and those are the schools that AREN'T hurting for money. A million bucks from a dude that is making 50 million on his current deal would do wonders for the program.

I’m proud of where I come from and thankful for the partial scholarship the department of History gave me.
I have no problem giving what I got back and more so that a young person gets what I got.
I’m lucky enough to be in the position to give and so too is Bobby W.
