Re: Recruiting
Lets play without them. To me it makes zero sense to cancel fall classes when it's three and a half months away, wait until July and then make a decision and see where you're at that point.
Re: Recruiting
USU needs to make a concerted effort to attract a lot of out-of-state transfer students from those 23 campuses in California.

Re: Recruiting
Agreed looking at the transfer portal a few current possibilities available from California Schools are...
Elijah Wever 6'5" PG USC
Juhwan Harris-Dyson 6-5 SG CAL
Zach Chappell 6-3 PG SJSU
And this list is bound to grow following todays announcement too.

Re: Recruiting
Not that I think we should pursue the sjsu kid listed. But I believe the mw has a rule currently that you cannot transfer to another school in the conference. That needs to change as you are essentially losing players from the conference when some might stay within the conference.

That rule will only change when Boise State or San Diego State want it too.slcagg wrote: ↑May 13th, 2020, 5:39 amNot that I think we should pursue the sjsu kid listed. I have seen the Cal player, Juwon Dyson play. He is very athletic and plays good defense. However, he cannot shoot at all.

From the Mountain West Rules Handbook:slcagg wrote: ↑May 13th, 2020, 5:39 amNot that I think we should pursue the sjsu kid listed. 3.6 Intra-Conference Transfer. A student-athlete who has received athletically-related financial aid or a student-athlete who was a varsity athletics award winner at the United States Air Force Academy and who transfers from one Conference institution to another shall meet the following requirements prior to being permitted to compete at the certifying institution: (Revised May 2018)
a. The student-athlete shall complete an academic year in residence at the certifying institution; and
b. The student-athlete shall forfeit one season of competition.
This rule shall not apply if the student-athlete’s previous institution discontinues the student athlete’s sport.
So, you can transfer to another MW school, you just lose a year of competition if you do so.

Re: Recruiting
I think this is why it's a foregone conclusion that no one would choose to make a transfer like that. I do appreciate you taking the time to look up the official ruling on the subject. Thank you my Aggie brother!sancho839 wrote: ↑May 13th, 2020, 11:29 amFrom the Mountain West Rules Handbook:slcagg wrote: ↑May 13th, 2020, 5:39 amNot that I think we should pursue the sjsu kid listed. Re: Recruiting
Is forfeiting a year of competition ( redshirt) the same as forfeiting a year of eligibility? There must be lawyers on this board. Is this clear language?

Re: Recruiting
And yes we all know from previous comments on this board that his last name is toolson and his first name would fit in well in Provo. I personally hope he becomes an aggie.
His final four were Boise, usu, BYU and Utah. Not sure if he is a pwo opportunity or scholarship opportunity for each school.

A simple look at the individuals he's retweeted, and who he's following on his Twitter profile and it's not even a question: he'll commit to BYU-Provo.

Re: Recruiting
Mac McClung from Georgetown is transferring. He's always shown on highlight reels because he's a freaky athletic white kid. I don't know if he's relevant as far as transferring to Utah St. but it would be cool for the Aggies to be frequently on Bleacher Report or House of Highlights.

I don’t see anything on his twitter that he is a big fan of any specific college. Not saying you are wrong in where he is leaning. Just saying his twitter doesn’t indicate that to me.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑May 13th, 2020, 4:39 pmA simple look at the individuals he's retweeted, and who he's following on his Twitter profile and it's not even a question: he'll commit to BYU-Provo.

Re: Recruiting
The Toolsons are true blue Cougs. The only thing that might make him lean somewhere else is that Conner was ignored by BYU until right before signing at UVU. The bad news is that it was Pope that convinced Conner to go to UVU and Pope and Conner had a very good relationship. Hope I am wrong but I will be surprised if he is not headed to BYU P.
