Up to ten. Probably doesn't affect us realistically either way so I'll cheer for Boise to lose and help us secure that 3 seed.

Well, we really don’t want Fresno to all of the sudden gain tons of confidence right before we play them. I don’t want a blow out or a victory for Fresno. I want BSU to win by ~10pts. Just a normal loss. Nothing to get excited over.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if BSU loses to Fresno all we need is a split this week to stay at #3??

Edit: That would hinge on SDSU to win against UNLV, so we would get the CSU matchup.

It does us no good to have Boise lose — especially at home. That would only serve to have our losses to them look that much worse.

The committee will see we lost to Boise twice. Losing to Boise twice who beat Fresno by 1 or losing to Boise twice who lost by 2 to Fresno won't make a difference. I'd rather have security in the 3 seed because we probably need to win the tournament to get in anyway. And if we don't the Boise Fresno game isn't going to be the deciding factor. Also I don't like Boise.

Alston doesn't touch the ball in the final possession with 17 seconds.

Exactly. IT will be two Q1 road losses regardless which wont hurt us. Having them drop a game and assure us of finishing higher in conference and giving them a bad home loss will help our NCAA tournament chances. Same if CSU drops game to Nevada

I actually thinks this helps us. The conference was not going to get 4 teams in but has a chance for 3. There net will be right around ours and maybe a little lower. Plus the losses to them will still be quad 1 losses. The aggies still have a lot of business to handle but are knocking in the door of a bid.

Honestly it is a lame excuse. But let’s say we get beat and csu gets beat this week we could turn into a 1 bid league pretty quick. Financial impact and exposure impact could be a big deal if that carries itself out.

That is the price of competition. We can't criticize Wyoming for refusing to play us and then be worried about playing them a few weeks later since a loss will hurt us. If we can't beat Wyoming and Fresno State this week, we don't belong in the tournament.

Not what I’m arguing, and I think you make a great point. Just stating that it is a risk of losing bids which is not good for the conference. Pairing up the top 4 of the league the last week of the season provides no upside and only risk of losing bids.

It goes to show people that while stars next to a name are important because certain things cant be taught, on the flip side coaching and chemistry are of equal importance. When you can mesh high star players with great chemistry/coaching it is wonderful, but stars alone cant get it done without the other 2.

One of the best attributes of Craig’s teams is it seems they improve during the year. Best is always at or near the end of the season.

Rice is good for getting BSU to a 4/5/6 seed every year and nothing more.
