BSU Game Predictions

I think BSU is a lot better than they look! Although this looks like our best team in years, I just don't think we will be able to pull it off. We have a great chance though. We beat a really good Air Force team last week.

We should be able to run the ball good against them, but I don't think our secondary will be able to contain their receivers on offense. Even though this is our best team in a long time, we have to keep in mind our record against the donks! Its 20-5, so they obviously know what they are doing. It just makes me nervous to play them each year because of the consistent success. I am just happy its not in Boise! We tend to lose every time we play there. I hope that our crowd gets as loud as theirs. I love my Aggies so much but I just have a bad feeling about this game.

As much as I hate to say it, BSU 35 USU 21.

I agree with most of what you said, but this is our best team only since 2018. 2019 and 2020 were bad, but this team isn't close to 2018. That team would've beaten WSU this year by 40.

Fact check, Air Force is not that good, but we made their offense look like it is amazing. I think reality hits tomorrow

Thats a great point! Our 2018 team was the first team we have had ranked that high I think. But when they went into Boise they just folded. Something about playing Boise always makes me uneasy. I get frustrated with our team because we are always just middle of the pack in the MW, and we can never make that jump from an average team to a great team. Maybe this is the year! Who knows..

Honestly, I did not view that 2019 game as our Aggies folding. Not at all. It was a toughly fought, intense game between two very similarly matched teams. We just got out-schemed on both sides of the ball. Was it because a certain coach already had a foot out the door..? I can’t say for sure but that’s what it felt like. That game could have very easily fallen in our favor if 2-3 plays go different.

Agree. Wells made some idiotic decisions (running out the clock out at halftime, up the middle runs on 4 and long) and was generally outcoached by Harsin. We should have had that game.

If BSU wants to beat us the better put 40+ on the score board. Our offense has barely scratched the surface of what they can do. I keep hearing BA talk about how simple we have kept things. I expect the playbook to be opened a bit more this week.

BSU can't run the ball or stop the run. Missing 3 players on DL... = they better score a bunch and not get beind.

AF triple option gives everyone problems. No one else runs that scheme on our schedule.

In this game, I gotta say Utah State finds a way to win again, 41-34. They hit an extra FG as our Defense adds much more pressure and I see the Defense very hungry to make a statement against Boise. They help the Offense with a turnover TD, ie sack and fumble, pick6 .. something. Man, I hope our Offense can hang numerous TD's on Boise this week, even more than I'm projecting.

Unfortunately, Boise plays on all cylinders for the first time this year. Regardless, 3-1 is a great start to the season.

A big key is to start fast. This is not a game when we want to get down double digits like the last 3 games. Boise has struggled in 2nd halves this season. Getting ahead early might allow doubt to settle in for Boise, hopefully.
