That Boomer Halftime Magic Show

Post by aggiesdotcom » February 6th, 2024, 9:23 pm

May have done permanent damage to the Spectrum with that Boomer display of magic. Just awful mojo and I knew at that point we were not winning this game. Whoever booked that should lose their job.

I leaned over to my wife and said “worst halftime show ever”…and I have been going to games at the Spectrum for more than 50 years.

I guess everything last night was a little off. No amount of magic was going to move our shots towards the hoop.

My favorite moment of the night was when the ball was magically taken right out of Johnson's hands atthe half court. Now you see it, now you don't!

They tried to hard with the magic theme. Spectrum magic fell as flat as the halftime performers magic.

The best halftime IMO is to bring in young Jr. Jazz Teams to play a quick game. Always entertaining. My favorite halftime ever was when they had special Olympics play a game during halftime. Such great opportunity for these wonderful individuals and just creates an overall good feeling in the spectrum.

It also went over its allotted time, causing the team to wait in the tunnel rather than the traditional runout, the band wasn't synced and they didn't play the fights song. Everything was off last night. I'm genuinely worried that a hex was put on the building.

Pole dancing and wet t-shirt contests always provide the best bang for the buck.

Or you could take a page from the NMSU playbook and have a pie fight at center Court.

Or, combine these ideas and have wrestling matches in a kiddie pool full of whipped cream.

It was pathetic, but no need to malign a whole generation of boomers by connecting them to that travesty.😀

Probably the same guy who did a magic show at MLMS in the early 90s.

Maybe that is what the "magician" was actually performing at halftime. We need to look into who hired this guy. My guess is we'll find out the MWC was behind it, they hate us.

To be honest, I think the magician was better than the dancing old ladies. That one has gotten very old and boring to me. Even Big Blue can't make it any better.

Late to the party but after letting it stew for a few days that was quite possibly the worst half time show I’ve ever experienced and I’ve sat through some really rough halftime shows at a few High Schools. I literally said to the student next to me that this is embarrassingly bad.
Not sure what was worse though the “flash mob” usu tried to make students do last year or this. It’s honestly pretty close.
