Re: Bobby Wagner signs with the Commanders
Based solely on salary, I'm guessing he's the most successful NFL Aggie alumni to date. Love will pass him at some point if he stays healthy and continues to play like he did last season given the way top QBs get paid.
Re: Bobby Wagner signs with the Commanders
I think Donald Penn is currently second (about $60M for his career). He had a couple of highly paid years.

That's a name I haven't seen in forever. I wonder if he's still married to that cheer leader?

He also threw his hat in the ring on the last head coach search at USU.Hoot wrote: ↑March 13th, 2024, 6:39 pmThey divorced. I think he still does radio out there.ViAggie wrote: ↑March 13th, 2024, 6:23 pmThat's a name I haven't seen in forever. I wonder if he's still married to that cheer leader?

Re: Bobby Wagner signs with the Commanders
I'm not aware that he has any coaching experience, it's one thing to be a player, it's a whole other thing to be a coach, especially a HC. I played FB for 10 years but I know better than to think I can coach, I wouldn't even volunteer to coach for my son's HS FB team after I was invited to (and politely declined because again, I know better).ratofallaggies wrote: ↑March 14th, 2024, 10:19 amHe also threw his hat in the ring on the last head coach search at USU.Hoot wrote: ↑March 13th, 2024, 6:39 pmThey divorced. Yep, true. Funny thing is that he wasn't the only former player that was trying to get the job either.ViAggie wrote: ↑March 14th, 2024, 12:17 pmI'm not aware that he has any coaching experience, it's one thing to be a player, it's a whole other thing to be a coach, especially a HC. Cooley moved back to Wyoming a couple of years ago and last I heard he was the OC for a high school football team.ViAggie wrote: ↑March 14th, 2024, 12:17 pmI'm not aware that he has any coaching experience, it's one thing to be a player, it's a whole other thing to be a coach, especially a HC. Re: Bobby Wagner signs with the Commanders
Mark Brunell went from high school coach to Detroit Lions QB coach and helped resurrect Jared Goff’s Career. I’m not saying Cooley is a Brunell level coach but I’m also not saying he’s not.foreveranaggie wrote: ↑March 17th, 2024, 11:30 amCooley moved back to Wyoming a couple of years ago and last I heard he was the OC for a high school football team.ViAggie wrote: ↑March 14th, 2024, 12:17 pmI'm not aware that he has any coaching experience, it's one thing to be a player, it's a whole other thing to be a coach, especially a HC. Yep. At one point he was considered one of the two or three best TE's in the NFL. Always had him on my Fantasy League teams when I used to do that.

Re: Bobby Wagner signs with the Commanders
Years ago, I played Friday night softball with a guy who had brief stints in the majors. He had a son who played ball and he said he wanted nothing to do with coaching the team and just wanted to instruct his son on the side. Maybe I'll google his son and see if he made it to college level.ViAggie wrote: ↑March 14th, 2024, 12:17 pmI'm not aware that he has any coaching experience, it's one thing to be a player, it's a whole other thing to be a coach, especially a HC.
