Re: Does Washington Wait?
the discord screenshot? aggies22 is reporting in the sprinkle replacement thread that mark pope is headed for UW. and i don't know about the rest of you, but discord's signal to noise ratio is not flattering.
presuming it is true that danny is leaving, tho? complicating that presumption with two layers of more presumption makes for an unlikely scenario, imo. rAggie is no dummy, so i'm trying to figure out what the basis for his thinking is.

The first line of that article made me think of something I’ve never considered before, what happens to assistant coaches contracts? Do they get bought out? Do they have contracts to be bought out?pcaggie wrote: ↑March 19th, 2024, 1:23 pminteresting read

Re: Does Washington Wait?
The discord post was from Trilly Donovan, and he's pretty tied in to the coaching scene.
I realize a lot of people will want to take it with a huge grain of salt being an anonymous source on discord etc...there's a lot of reading tea leaves and connections going here. All I know for sure is that I first heard that we were losing Danny to UW on Feb. 22, I posted on Feb. 23 I was afraid we'd lose him to UW, and nothing I've heard since has changed my mind about it.
The only mystery for me is whether he will call it his "dream job" in his press conference.

I'm sure the fee paid through Monster or Indeed is far less than hiring a search firm that specializes in this field.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑March 19th, 2024, 2:28 pmI mean that would be nice. Where is the story that dedrique Taylor has left Fullerton? If you look him up it still shows he is at Fullerton. Maybe he is leaving, but hard to see him being the proxy for sprinkle when he is still with Fullerton

I'm sure Trilly is occasionally wrong, but it's rare. He's pretty reliable with his info. Also interesting on the timing you heard it.rAggie wrote: ↑March 19th, 2024, 1:56 pmThe discord post was from Trilly Donovan, and he's pretty tied in to the coaching scene.

Feb 20 - we beat SDSU/Goodman is at the game.
Feb 22/23 - you hear it/post it
Feb 27 - Fresno game - clearly not as sharp as we've been, but we get the win
March 1 - Trilly says WA tells Hopkins he's out at end of season unless he wins P12 tourney, names Sprinkle and Smith as the guys to watch
March 1 - AFA game, a win but another so-so performance by the team
March 2 - the Goodman tweet
March 6 and 9: we look great in wins against SJSU/NM
Looking back, were our performances against Fresno and AFA just off games, or was Danny distracted with the WA stuff? Then he rallied the troops a bit once Goodman tweeted and it became public info.

Re: Does Washington Wait?
Might not matter but at least it’s a new wrinkle.
Also, I was told yesterday Pope desperately wants out of Provo and would be very deferential to UW in contract negotiations (I think some others here have mentioned that too). Maybe this is an opening for them to reset their board a little. I was told sprinkle is by far their first choice but not sure how much that was influenced by the departing AD.

Re: Does Washington Wait?
If shooting 59.3% (31/58) from the field including 57.3% (16/27) from 3 with 24 assists and 4 turnovers while having 4 guys scoring in double digits in a 20 point win on the road isn't playing great.... I would like to hear what your definition of playing great is.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑March 20th, 2024, 8:47 amI personally wouldn’t say we ever looked great post SDSU game.Aggie702 wrote: ↑March 19th, 2024, 3:12 pmI'm sure Trilly is occasionally wrong, but it's rare. Re: Does Washington Wait?
At first I thought UW's AD leaving couldn't be a bad thing for USU, but it might just delay things.
If Sprink is leaving, I'd just assume it happen immediately after our final loss this season so we can move on.

Re: Does Washington Wait?
from an ESPN article this morning about Washington AD going to Nebraska:
"The move comes at a difficult juncture for Washington, as Dannen leaves after just six months. He just led the search to hire Fisch and is amid a search to hire the replacement for Hopkins. The school is deep into the search, and sources said this move is not expected to change its timing or direction."

Re: Does Washington Wait?
Tell him he is under contract with the Aggies and that if he wants to interview for jobs that has to be done after the season has completed. If Sprinkle did interview while in Vegas that is a pretty low move on his part. If he wants to move on fine but at least have the integrity to wait until after the season to do interviews.JonnyCienPesos wrote: ↑March 20th, 2024, 11:59 amWhat were they supposed to do?Montana21 wrote:Why did the administration let our coach interview in Las Vegas for another job?
