when we say we have insider information does that mean it's always correct? no just means the source heard something very close real information. it may or may not be true. Aggie22 is one that i rely on and will trust when information is being leaked. can he be wrong, you bet, but his information is the most accurate i've seen!! Keep up the good work!

Scott Garrard said in a radio interview that he thought he knew Smith to Utah wasn't happening, so convinced that he was very close to tweeting telling us not to freak out cause it wasn't happening, but then he decided not to cause he didn't want to get burned on it.

He was largely pretty quiet on the issue. There is only so much we can expect him to know. As much as I like to think of him a savant he only knows what people are willing to share with him.
Things change. It can be very fluid until ink hits paper.
Stir example sometimes you’re inline for a job and your old boss swoops in during the background check and takes it from you. Last second change.
22 does a phenomenal job. No need to have this thread.

No one associated with USU would ever do something like that of course.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑March 26th, 2024, 2:49 pmHe was largely pretty quiet on the issue. Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
Most takes are like that with sources and much more so when you are not an anonymous poster with a job that has to keep sources completely confidential. Based on both his experience and his sources he gave an opinion or someone's opinion about which way the NCAA would rule. Of course it was an opinion because the NCAA hadn't even ruled yet.Pacobag wrote: ↑March 26th, 2024, 1:33 pmI really appreciate 22’s insights here, he is right a lot more than he is wrong and I enjoy his comments.
In some cases, it can be challenging (at least for me) to know whether 22 (or anyone for that matter) is sharing “insider” information or just opinion. I believe he said Martinez wouldn’t be cleared by the NCAA to play this year. Initially I thought that was insider info but when Ian was cleared to play, I realized it was 22’s opinion or the opinion of one of 22’s sources. When Max got injured, I believe 22 said Max’s season was over. Then a little bit later Max was playing again (although the injury did eventually end Max’s season). That doesn’t make 22 a liar or a bad source, it just means he’s human…. Sorry 22.
This whole thread is silly. He is essentially a very well connected reporter who has a better array of sources than anyone here and is very careful to protect the sources. There may be others on the board who because of their job or personal connections share information on particular subjects that may even be better at times and have the luxury of anonymity to do so, but there is no one here with the broad amount of information he is able to get and his information is generally more accurate because he has the ability to confirm with multiple sources. He obviously knows a lot he can't divulge that others weigh in on anonymously.
I guess fans will be fans and hang on every word out there, and want to go after the messenger when reassuring info changes. I remember about 10 years ago one particular dense poster on here, with no inside connections at all, and no credentials to do so, made a drunk on the kool aid comment about rolling a particular SEC football team, and was lambasted by angry fans for years afterward who got excited by his warped reasoning and were disappointed. Poor Brian

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
Funny thing about this thread is it was never intended to hang on every word of A22. It was never intended to blast anyone. It was only intended to point out there's fluid situations happening and sometimes insiders post things that don't turn out. The people are the ones who took this way out of proportion.

It's odd to make a thread about how someone was "wrong".... That's what you did.ManitobaAggie wrote: ↑March 26th, 2024, 4:12 pmFunny thing about this thread is it was never intended to hang on every word of A22. It was never intended to blast anyone. It's okay; 22 is a man of the people. Not everyone can be right all of the time—except perhaps the prophet of these boards.

I love aggies22 and he’s provided a lot of excellent inside info and scoop in the past that was absolutely spot on.
Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
This thread is hilarious. Comes in with a reasonable statement about how insider information is fluid, and everyone starts acting like abuse victims that are afraid Aggie22 is gonna leave us The ptsd of our coaches leaving us is real.

Nah, I just don't see any reason to try call out aggies22 for being wrong or trying to shame him when he has been out doing God's work for us the past couple years. Aside from any inside information, he's the single spot for recruiting info & interviews, early spring/fall depth charts, etc.

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
Even though I do sometimes will point out his miss on Smith to Utah not happening, there are ALOT of things he has hit on that I can recall just off the top of my head.
I do know he hits on some things going on with the teams even more accurately than the players themselves.

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
I appreciate what information Aggies22 gathers from DMing those in the know on here and Twitter and then shares with the board, but I think everyone needs to dial it back with taking everything shared as high level insider info. I think most on here presume he has deeper inside access than is reality and it shows when his information is off and everyone gets upset. Keep up the good work, Aggies22!

I'm still not sure why the original post, couldn't just say "we don't know everything, take it with a grain of salt" instead of calling someone out. That's the douchey part that gets everyone annoyed and then he doubled down and compares folks to byu-p fans. That's the issue I have with it; it was a douchey post, like a byu-p fan would post

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
Agreed I love aggie22 but he told me to leave my wife since ana de armas was going to come over last night and move in with me and she didn't. He also told me to quit my job and tell off my boss since a guy was going to show up with a 50 million dollar check and it didn't happen. He's missed twice but I still love his posts

I also love Aggie22 but he told me to sell him my collection of Bitcoins back in 2013 because it was "worth more turned in to Valley Metals for recycling" and he said he would take it off my hands and recycle it for me because he had access to a truck. He took me to Pacos Tacos for lunch after. So that was another miss.

He never said Pope was going to UW, only that Pope was interested in going to UW.ManitobaAggie wrote: ↑March 26th, 2024, 12:32 pmAppreciation post for Aggies22 here! I was looking forward to seeing Pope in purple. While it's a bummer, I think it suggests these situations are more fluid than we all realize.

Is that true? I'm not going to take the time to look it up but I was pretty sure he said he heard pope was going to Washington (though I don't think he ever said it was 100%). Could be confusing him with somebody else though. That thread was all hectic.FloridaAggie13 wrote:He never said Pope was going to UW, only that Pope was interested in going to UW.ManitobaAggie wrote: ↑March 26th, 2024, 12:32 pmAppreciation post for Aggies22 here!
