Love it! I loved his vibe on the coaches’ shows.

Let's do it. He knows Utah. He knows our players and culture. His main drawback is head coaching experience. Give him a shot or go with Todd Simon

Player retention should be near the bottom of the list of priorities for hiring a coach. These players won’t be here 3-4 years from now but the coach will be.

I will only support this if we pay $200,000 to use a search firm to validate we should hire someone who is already here.

Really if we can bring back our team, add a point guard, and keep our commits. That’s a MWC championship caliber team and a NCAA tournament team!

I don’t know how I’d feel about Hill.Id be warn to the idea if he can retain the core of the team and maybe Haslem if he doesn’t go with Sprinkle. If we do hire Hill it needs to be a short contract with lower pay than Danny was making. If he proves himself in the first year or two, then offer a more lucrative extension. If not, move on relatively quickly.

Not sure why the hard on for Simon. His record is not fantastic. TK has much more success on his resume. I sort of get SUU but overall just, whatever.
Much of his overall win-loss record being not great is from his 1st couple of seasons at SUU when he inherited a garbage program. He turned them into a pretty good team, and then it became garbage again after he left. But I wouldn't use the 1st 2 seasons there as any sort of cause for concern.

He’s been a lead assistant at Utah, New Mexico, and Montana State.

Very good recruiter.

I know he’s an assistant but I think he is more that qualified. I think he will do an excellent job. We will be hiring a new coach next year again.

Assuming Hill is the choice, this is nothing like when Duryea was hired with all due respect. The program had zero mojo and energy when Stew retired and we hired an assistant from a lame duck regime.

Those are all great things but why hasn't he gotten a job at like a big sky school with all of those credentials. I think hiring assistant coaches are a wild card. I will say Andy seems like a good dude.

No one knows if Andy Hill is a good head coach but a great recruiter is a good start. I don't think Sprinkle was a great tactician but he recruited well and got the most out of the players.

If he is hired, I hope we give him a chance. I see no reason or benefit in declaring him to be Tim Duryea just because he is an assistant coach.

They were all assistants at one time.
